Chermside Forum is a friendly, supportive group that meets once a month in the Brisbane Northside area. The aim of our meetings is to improve confidence and communication skills. Members learn and practise public speaking, how meetings run, the roles and duties of office bearers and workshop facilitation. Feel free to contact us if you would like to learn new skills, enhance your abilities and meet new people. Visitors are always welcome.

25th January 2024
Speeches to the title “A favourite author, book or speech and what it means to me“. All members are invited to prepare a speech to this title and visitors are encouraged to come along and listen to the speakers and our learning segments.
22nd February 2024
This meeting includes 5 speakers presenting a Media Review followed by an impromptu speaking practice session.
28th March 2024
The title for speeches for this meeting is Saints and/or Sinners. What a great title! 5 members are invited to present a speech to this title following which we will be having a learning segment plus an impromptu speaking session.
18th April 2024
Courage and Cowardice is the title for our speakers at this meeting, with five members delivering well researched speeches to entertain and inform us. We will also be hearing an analysis of a famous historical speech to help us understand the features that make a ‘great’ speech.
23rd May 2024
The title for today’s speeches is What If…. Joy will be our main speaker, with 5 members invited to present follow up speeches to the same title.
28th June 2024
All members are invited to participate in today’s speaking program featuring Epic Poems and Bush Poetry.
25th July 2024
Science Fact and/or Science Fiction is the title our members are invited to speak to. We will also be hearing an analysis of a famous historical speech to help us understand the features that make a ‘great’ speech.
